Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At our wool skin, and hide sale held on September 15 we submitted a largo catalogue to a full bench of buyers, who competed keenly for everything offered. Prices for oddments of wool were on a par, while sheepskins advanced id. on any good lines. Ox hides advanced Id. to 2d: per lb., cow hides from id. to Id. per lb., calf skins were very keenly sought after, some lines on our catalogue making up ns high as 18d. per lb. These calf skins worked out from Bs. to 12s. each. Tallow was also firm at'late rates. We quote:—Wool: Crossbred, 2Jd. to Sid.; lambs’, 3d. to sd. Sheepskins: Crossbred, fine, 3d. to 3RI.J crossbred, coarse, 2d. to 3d.; crossbred, damaged and inferior, Id. to 2(1.; crossbred, damp and salted, In. 9d. to 3s. 3d. each. Mr. T. Skeyhill, known as the "Blind Poet,” was 'a Through Ipaesenger for Sydney from San Francisco by the Tahiti, which arrived on Saturday.
