At a special meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council, the following proposal by Poverty Bay was carried:"That no challenges for the Hawke Cup and Heathcote Williams Shield bo received before October 1 each season, and that tho committee reserve the right to arrange priority of challenges.” A Wellington motion—“ That tho Plunket Shield rules bo revised so that 30 per cent, be paid to the visiting associa- ” tion, with a minimum of £3O, any loss ‘ to be bornp by the local association"— -was lost. .... , j, It was reported that the tour of the .'Australian team' would, when accounts •were finally settled, show a credit or oyer £lOOO. Regarding tho visit of an English team, it was stated that four Australian as..sociations would allow the council 73 per cent of the receipts. Matches would ire played at Auckland and Dluncdin at the • council’s risk, tlhe council taking 10 percent. of the profits, if any. Cablegrams ■were being exchanged with the Marylebone Club, and there was every probability of an attractive team being sent cut. The personnel of'the team had not yet been disclosed.
