FLOODS IN N.S.W.
SERIOUS LOSSES OF STOCK AND CROPS SUFFERINGS OF MAROONED PEOPLE (Kec. July 28, 7.50 p.m.) Sydney, July 28. As the floods in the northern rivers recede the reports from, outlying districts previously cut off by tho flood waters show that the losses of stock and crops and tho damage generally arc very serious and widespread. Much suffering was endured by marooned people. Many sensational escapes 'are recorded. In a number of cases houses were washed away bodily. The people in the flooded townships are now busily cleaning up the deep mud deposited in the streets and houses, removing debris, including dead animals, and righting many houses which shifted from their foundations.— Press Assn.
