WAR PENSION APPEALS

_ FIRST SITTINGS OF THE BOARD. The recently-appointed War Pensions Appeal Board commenced its sittings in Wellington yesterday. The board consists of Dr. J. M. Christie (chairman),' Dr. Lapraik, and Dr. E. K. Edie. Its members aro all thoroughly experienced in the handling of war injuries, and their task now is to consider any appeals that may be made from the decisions of the War Pensions Board. The number of appeals so far received is not as large as had been expected, but the new board will be busy in various parts of New Zealand for several weeks.
