MUNICIPAL HOUSES
A STATEMENT OF EXPENDITURE PRICES AND DEPOSITS Particulars of expenditure "on the municipal housing scheme, and information regarding tho houses disposed of to date, were before tho City Council at its meeting last night. The Housing Committee's report contained the following items :—
Government. loan, £10,000; deposits on purchase, £960; instalments, principal, and interest, £247 17s. 2d.; rents and insurance, £273 Bs. Id.; advance from district fund, £20,728 18s. Id.; total, £40,208 3s. id.
Expenditure.—Land purchased: Connor Estate, £1344 175.; Cheswick Estate, £2099 10s. 7d.; Wilton Estate, good land, £9536 6s. 9d.,; Wilton Estate, Buick, £Boss. Bd.; Conlin Estate, £2000; Homebush Estate, £3467 9s. 5d.; total, £18,528 9s. sd. Material, construction, etc.—£21,679 13s. lid.
A table was presented showing the section number, the price, and tho deposit in the case of each household. The figures were: —No. 5, price £l7*, deposit £5O; No. 7, price £1625, deposit £75; No. 8, price £1720, deposit £5O; No. 9, price £1430, deposit £5O; No. 10, price £1530, deposit £230; No. 11, price £l3OO, deposit £100; No. 12, price £llOO, deposit £250; No. 13, price £1505, deposit £55; No. 14, price -, deposit £5O; No. 15, price £1165, deposit £5O.
