MILITARY DISTRICTS

DIVISIONS OF CENTRAL COMMAND. Under the new defence scheme. New Zealand is divided into three military districts, comprising the Northern Command, Central Command, and Southern Command. It is announced now that the Central Command will be subdivided into four regimental districts as follows:—

No. 5 Regimental District.—Headquarters, Wellington. All that area comprising the counties of Makara and Hutt; together with the city of Wellington, and all other boroughs and town districts situated within or contiguous to the boundaries of those counties. No. 6 Regimental District.—Headquarters, Palmerston- North. All that area comprising the counties of Ohura, Kaitieke. Waimarino, Wanganui, Rangitikei, Kiwitea, Pohangina, Orona, Kairanga, Manawatu," Horowhenua, and those portions of the counties of West Taupo and East Taupo lying south of the northern boundary of the command and west of the 176 degrees meridian of east longitude; together with the borough of Wanganui, the town, districts of Castlecliff and Gonville, and all boroughs and town districts situated within or contiguous to the boundaries of those counties. No. 7 Regimental District.—Headquarters, Napier. All that area comprising the counties of Wairon. Hawke’s Bay, Wnipawa, Waipukurau. Dannevii-ke. Patangata, "Woodville, Weber, Pahiatua, Akitio, Eketahunn, Mauriceville, Castlepoint, Masterton, Wairarapa South, Featherston, and that portion of the countv of East Taupo lying south of tho northern boundary of the command and east of the 176 deg. meridian of longitude; together with all boroughs and town districts situated within or contiguous to the boundaries of those counties. No. 8 Regimental District.— Headquarters, Hawera. All that area comprising the counties of Clifton, Taranaki, Strat-. ford. Inglewood. Whangnmomonq, Waitotara. Patea, Hawera. Elthani, Wniniate West and Egmont: together with all boroughs and town districts situated within or contiguous to tho boundaries of those counties, other than the borough of Wanganui and tho town districts of Castlecliff and Gonville.
