ANNUAL CONVENTION.

Py Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch, June 8. The annual convention of tho New Zealand Alliance was opened to-day. the Rev. W.-J. Comrie, who presided, said that they were faced with many disquieting facts when they remembered the amount spent on liquor last year and the increased consumption of liquor, yet they were undaunted and determined to carrv on the fight to a final victory. The annual report referred to electoral rolls, and said that the Alliance desired to see a roll that would he cleansed of those who had long since ceased to exist on this earthly sphere. Mr. C. M. Luke (Wellington) was nominated for the president for 1921.
