| Sir Frank Madden was elected Speaker of the'Legislative Assembly of Victoria in 1901. Ho was born in Ireland in 1817. Ho first entered the Victorian Parliament as member for Eastern Suburbs in 1894. Though a lawyer, bo wns regarded as an authority on agriculture and irrigation.]
