THE NEW DEFINITION
Sydney, February 16. It was announced at a meeting oi sporting bodies that nine organisations had accepted and five rejected the definition of amateur. It was decided to recommend the Sporting I'l'deration o adopt the definition.—Press Assn. fThe conference on the amateur status agreed that amateurs do not lose their status in competitions with or against a professional in any game in which no money prize is offered. It was also agreed that professionals might sit on governing bodies. Each decision was carried by 12 votes to 11.]
