POLICE INTER POSITION.
Br T»l(wr<reh-- Pr»«« Auckland, February 15. Two youths, the eldest 22 years of age, had an adventure cut short by the interposition of the police. They proposed to proceed to the Kermadecs in the yacht Mizpah, which the elder boy claimed to have purchased. They had, by the aid of a cheque hook, obtained a large quantity of stores and provisions, irinch they sent to the wharf, and placed in tho care of a watchman, whom they paid ss. an hour. Detectives relieved the watchman of his duty. At present the youths stand charged with issuing cheques, by means of which benzine and oil were obtained.
