A "STOP WORK” MEETING
WOOL, IRON, AND GRAIN STORE
EMPLOYEES
For some liras there has been a cer. tain amount of unrest among the employees in the wool, iron, and grain stores in Wellington, over the question of arranging a new agreement governing the wages and conditions of work in tlje stores. "ston-work” meeting to discuss the (situation was to have . teen held on Saturday morning, but at t'he suggestion of the employers the meeting was postponed until 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon, the employers agreeing to allow the stores to be closed in order that the men might attend. Tho meeting was held in the Trades Hall. Vivian Street, and there was an attendance of about 260. The proceedings lasted for over two hours, and terms for settling the trouble which had been offered by the employers were considered by the meeting, bir.‘ no statement was forthcoming as to whether thev would be accepted.
