' As a result of their trial at Liverpool, Kerr and M’Caughey, labourers, were found guilty of conspiracy to murder police and of setting fire to warehouses and timber yards in Liverpool and Bootle on November 28, and were sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. The Sinn Feiners have instituted a campaign of terrorism against ex-service men. They informed twenty-five exservice men that if they persisted in settling on the land they would be tried by a Sinn Fein court and shot. In consequence of the blockade of Western Kerry, the stationmaster on the Tralee-Dingle line reports that supplies are exhausted, and women and children are on the verge of starvation.
