CONFERENCE IN LONDON TERMS TO BE SUBMITTED BY KEMAL PASHA PREMIER OF GREECE TO ATTEND By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. Athens, January 23. In connection with the invitation to Greeks and Turks to attend a Near East Conference in London, Kemal Pasha has notified the Grand Vizier that the Angora Government is the only Government at present in existence in Turkey. lie is awaiting the Allies’ direct invitation, when he will submit the following terms for acceptance:—Firstly, foreign iroops must immediately evacuate Turkish territories; secondly, Tui'r key refuses to pay an indemnity. Meanwhile, the Greek Premier declares he will go to London as plenipotentiary to an Allied country, as ho does not consider anything has happened to change the views of the signatories to the; Treaty of Sevres as regards Greece. -Aus.-N.Z. EOBEM (‘tSflA’S SI'RSESDER A SERIOUS DAMAGE TO NATIONALIST PRESTIGE. Athens, January 29. A communique from Smyrna confirms the report that Edhem Bey’s force of two thousand surrendered to the Greeks. Nearly half the officers and men entered the Greek lines just when the Turkish propagandist stories of Nationalist victories were gaining credence. It is supposed that Edhem unkindly selected the moment to surrender in order to inflict the most serious damage to the Nationalist prestige. In the opinion of British observers the reports of the Nationalist military strength are mere bluff.—“ The Times.” Athens, January 30.
