MOUNT EVEREST
PARTY TO ATTEMPT 'IHE CLIMB. (Rec. January 11, 7.W p.m.) London, January 11. Tho Alpine Club and the Royal Geographical Society arc organising an attempt to climb Mount Everest, with the or-sistance of the Tibetan Government, which hitherto has prevented a white man going within forty, miles of the mountain’s base. A reeonnaisanco party will bo sent out in 1921, with an aeroplane. to explore approaches to the mountain, map the ground, and make a photographic analysis. Tn party will, probably go to Tibet m 1J— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
