Ricard Minister of Agriculture, was defeated, lhe Conservatives lost a few seats, but the situation generally is unchanged. Ihe 1 res» emphasises the complete check received by the Socialists, none of whom were elected. The Communist vote was insignificant. . ~ M. -Marcel Hutin, writing in the "Echo de Paris,” says the elections have strengthened the Ministry,' which will not entertain the idea of a redistribution of nortfolios. In tho Senatorial elections, the Radicals and Radical Socialists secured 4.1 seats and the Republicans of the Left 30 seats, out of 96 vacancies.
