MANDATE OVER SAMOA
POPULACE DISAPPOINTED. Sydney, September 20. Mr. Sandes, the special Australian correspondent aboard the Renown, writing from Apia on August 29, mentions that both the natives and the white population were disappointed over tho operation of. the New Zealand mandate over Samoa. He states that he was informed that tho natives were engaged in preparing a petition imploring that Samoa should be withdrawn from the control of New Zealand ftnd placed under tho control of Britain.—Press Assn.
