Before a largo attendance of the public yesterday afternoon, Messrs. S. George Nathan aud Co. oflercd at their rooms, under instructions from the l'ublio Trustee, several properties, the first being in the estates of tho E. and A, Gray (deceased), comprising two flvc-roomcd cottages in John Street. No, 9 was sold to Mrs. Smith for £770, and No. 7. a. vacant cottage, to Mrs. Symons- for £550. Twu semi-detached cottages, Nos. 6 and 8, John Street, also in the. same estate, were sold to Mr. A. Wilkening for £1075. The next ollered was an eight-roomed residence, known as 199 The Terrace, it being in the estate of tho late jjuTth JTArdle. Bidding started at £1300, and quickly rose to £2225, at which price it was knocked down to Mrs. Evie Kennedy. Other properties in Vivian and Cuba Streets and Thorudon Quay were also oflercd, but did not reach the reserves, and were passed in, and are now open for private sale.
