AUCKLAND TEACHERS
THE SEPARATIST MOVEMENT,

The resolutions passed by school teachers in different centres, criticising tho decision to form ft separate teachers' association in Auckland, have boon considered by the managing committco of tho Auckland branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute. The committee decided to reply that it was responsible for the formation of the now association, but believed the movement was due to a general foelimr on tho part of ■ Auckland teachers that they were suffering an injustice. It was contended that the finding of the A]>eal Board in 1918, ami the decisions in riupport from the Supremo Court and a Parliamentary Committee, and CTcn Parliament itself, havo been in turn flouted. It was stated- that at the last nnmial conference of tho .institute the meeting was more concerned with excusing the action of the Department than with upholding the rights of their feltowtcachers.
