MOTORING ACCIDENTS

CAKS AND, CYCLES COLLIDE. By Telejraph-Fresß Association. Christchurch, July 13. A series of motor accidents occurred yesterday. As the result of a collision on the Loburn-Ashley Head between a car and a motor-cycle, Lawrence Doyle,' a returned soldier, who was riding his cycle, suffered the loss of his right leg. Tho car struck him on the leg, which was broken in three places. Doyle was removed to the Christchurch Hospital, where tho limb was amputated.

A collision on the Riccarton Eoad, between a car and a motor-cycle, resulted in the driver of the cycle and a companion being injured, the former having a leg fractured and the latter a collarbone broken.

A third car and cycle accident occurred on the Ferry Road. Dr. Danicll, on tlio staff of tho Military Hospital, was driving a car, and in endeavouring to avoid a motor-cycle, ran into a telegraph polo. He was cut about and bruised, and rendered unconscious for a time, and tho other occupants were also cut and bruised. Tho cycle 6truck the car and was smashed, tut the driver and two ladies in a side-car all escaped with minor injuries.
