ASSOCIATION FORMED IN SOUTH, By Telegraph—Press Association.' Dunedin. July 18. A meeting of proprietors or Otago and Southland country newspapers was held yesterday. Tlie object of tho meeting: vras to extend the movement initiated b.v the Southland country newspaper propietors 1 in trade, political, and industrial directions. There was a very representative attendanco, and it was decided to form a Now Zealand Country Press Association, on similar lines to that in New South Walos. Mr. Do La Pemdle (Win-' ton "Rcoord") tto6 appointed prosident, and Mr. Fisher (Otantau "Standard") secretary. Tlie president and secretary, were authorised to communicate with the' country newspapers throughout the Do-, minion, inviting their support and cooperation. Enthusiasm was displayed in oonnection with the project.
