STRENGTH OF OTHER NAVIES CONSIDERED

The Minister of the Navy gave evidence before the Diet Committee that Japan's building capacity -was two capital ships yearly. Her naval plans were based solely on her geographical situation, but the possible strength of other navies detachable against Japan had received consideration. The Naval Budget Estimates cover four new battleships, four batftle-cruisers, twelve cruisers, other small vessels, torpedo equipment, and oil tankers. The estimated coat is 680 million yen.—Reuter.
