FATHER JERGER
INJUNCTION AGAINST DEPORTATION REFUSED. Melbourne, July 11. An injunction to restrain Father Jerger from being deported has been refused. Application was also made for a writ of Habeas corpus, and the Judge made an order nisi to the officers in charge of tat nor Jerger to show cause- why the writ should not ho issued.-Press Assn. EXTRAORDINARY SCENE IN HOUSE OP REPRESENTATIVES. (Bee. July 15, 1 a.m.) Melbourne, Julv 14. Thcro was an extraordinary scene in the House of Eepresentatives. After Mr Hughes refused to discuss the Father Jorger case, Mr. Tudor attempted to move a censure motion, bub before he commenced a woman in the gallery shouted loudly at Mr. Hughes regarding the treatment of Father Jerger, and then threw into tho Chamber a bundle of I literature on the subject. This was the signal for. concerted) action on the part lof other women in the gallery, who screamed: "Why don't you give him a fair trial, you dirty rotter"? aud showered printed statements upon the heads of those below. After a struggle the interjcoters were removed—Press Assn.
