Tho "Irish Times" describes how 5000 gallons of petrol intended for the military in Gnlway, and loaded in an ordinary goods train, was held up at Mullingar. Masked men ran tho wagons into a siding, and emptied the petrol on the ground. Tho newspaper asks why a valuable munition of war was sent without protection through a hostile region where guerillas were working with remarkable audacity and infinito resource, ond says that, obviously, tho British Army has not yet succeeded in accommodating itself to an unprecedented and bewildering state of affairs.—Aus.-N.Z.
