Very successful indeed was this private danco organised by the staff of Messrs. A.. S. Pnterson and Co., Ltd.. and held in the Concert Chamber, of the Town Hall last evening. There was a very large attendance of dancers, and at times the floor was almost too crowded for comfort. The decorations of the chamber were'carried out in yellowj black,. and pink, streamers of these oolours radiating from a 6quaro centrepiece to the fides of the room, whilo the front of the t'allery was covered with pink drapery. Hanging baskets of white woodwork covered with trails of pink and white blossoms added to the effectiveness of the decorations. The stage was comfortably furnished for the chaperons, who included Mesdam_es Shirtcliffe, Longuet, Fussell, Blick, Murray, Oswin, Fitch, Raymond, Newton, and Richardson. The further end of the. corridor was turned into n supper room, the tables having been decorated with white narcissi. "Woodward's Orchestra provided excellent music for the dancing. Tho committee wlio carried out the arrangements for tho evening comprised tho Misses Thompson. A. Cooke, f : iiell. lies, Messrs. Murray. M'Cormick. Q. Wilson, Thomas, and Stevenson. Mr. J. M'Corinick wns the hon. secretary. .Mr. and Mrs. I/>nguet, Mr. Shirtcliffe, and Mr. and Mrs. Longuet were among those who were present.. ..
