KELBURN TRAM ACCIDENT
YOUNG GIRL INJURED. The ten-year-old daughter of Jlr. and Mrs. "J. AT. Smith, of 18 Glasgow Street, Kelburn, met with .a painful Occident soon after 9 a.m. yesterday 011 the Kelburn train. The child was making a trip to town, and on reaching the Kelburn Aveniio terminus she is believed to have stepped off tne car before it had' actually stopped, with the result that she slipped, and the two front wheels passed over ono of her feet before the* car came to a standstill. Before the girl could bo extricated tho car had to bo hauled a little up tho lull, and as soon as she was released felie was conveyed to the Public Hospital by motorcar. There it was found that her right foot Lad beon crushed, and her left hand also had beea orushed. Tho right foot w«s- amputated at the Hospital, as well as ono of tho fingers on tho left hand. It was reported last night that the child was progressing as well as could be expected.
