DEMOCRATS URGED TO ADOPT PROGRAMME.

Montreal, June 20. Iho American.Federation of Labour has adjourned its annual convention, after endorsing the League of Nations without reservations.

Irish sympathisers had opposed the endorsement of the League. Mr. Gompers,' president, is going to Washington to demand the incorporation of the Labour programme into tho Democratic platform. The programme includes the ratification of the Treaty, the curbing of profiteering, Government ownership of railroads, the abolition of anti-strike_ legislation, the endorsement of the Irish Republic an advance in wages wherever it is necessary to rcaintain the American standard'of living, and a shorter working day, to prevent unemployment. Mr. Samuel Gompers was unanimously re-elected president of the Fedara-hon.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
