A Press Association cable message from London slates that Sir., MacGregor, the British Trade Commissioner for Australia, starts on a, tour, of the industrial areas on July 13, commencing at London. Mr. Joshua I3ellj fin old and esteemed resident of Wellington, (lied last week at the age of 81 years. Mr. Bell was born at Crageynook, Cumberland in 1839, and came to New Zealand, via Queensland, some GO years ago. He was a carpenter by trade, and in the employ of Messrs, Archibald and Scoullar, helped to erect many of Wellington's buildings. He was aftterwards in lusiness for himself. All his life he was associated with tho Wesleyan Church here, and for many years was a trusteo ci the Taranaki Street Church. Porty-eight years ago h» married Miss Mary A. Moxnani, daughter of the late Mr. William Moxham, who at tint time owned the well-known dairy farm occupying the site of what js now the suburb of Kelburn, Mr. Bell, who wns known for his sterling character and kindly disposition, leaves a widow, three daughters (Mrs. P. Ayres, Mrs. W. Wills, and Miss E Bell) and two sons (Ml-. W. J. Bell, of Wellington and Mr. Aleck Bell, of Trentham).
