VICTORIA OLTJB. The annual report of the Victoria Bowling Club state? that the receipts for the year, were £444 7s, 2d„ the expenditure £570 ss„ and the credit balance at the bank £87 Is. 9d. Ten new members were eleoted during the year, nine resigned, one election was voided, and two members died. The membership is now 103. By the death of Mr.. Charles Robinson, the olub lost a ■ member who, though not taking an active part oh the green for some time, will be remembered for his genial disposition and his cheerful readiness to help at all .times in social matters. Just nrior to the year closing, the club also suffered loss by the death of Mr. B. ft. Thomson, who will be missed by many on the green, and whose sterling good qualities aB a keen bowler, clean sportsman, and shrewd, but very kindly critic, in all thij-t pertained to the good government of the club, endeared him to those whom he counted among his friends. Tho very cordial thanks of the club are due to the indies who ao materially .and cheerfully ministered to the wants of members at afternoon tea on Saturdays and on the opening day. NEWTOWN OLTJB. The Newtown Club's report states that the club's membership has made little headway since last year. Commencing with 80 members, including one life-membßr. one supernumerary, and one in camp, 11 new members were added, making 91 in all. So far two resignations had been accepted. The balance-sheei for the year shows a credit of £98 14s. Id.

■ PETONE CLUB. The twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Petone Bowline Olub was held in the club's. pavilion on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance of members.

On the motion of the president (Mr. G. D. M'Ewen) the members stood in. silence for a minute, as a mark of respect to the memory of Messrs. J. G. Oaßtle, H. Findlay. and J. Gllmour, who had died during tho year. ■■ The annual report and balance-sheet were'.adopted. The'following officers were elected :-President, Mr. P, 07 Walton; vice-president, Mr. 0. T. Bargh; hon. secretary. Mr. 0. B. Naughton; hori, treasurer, Mr. W. H Johnston; management committee, Messrß. E. Tovey, W. P. Rennie, A. A. Gray, D. G. M'Ewen. W. H. Mclhulsh, and R. Hutchinson; trustee's representative on committee, Mr, A. Carter; representative to Wellington Centre, Mr. A. Oole; auditors, Messrs. E. S. Jones and F. Wilkinson. A hearty vote of thanks was unanimously accorded the retiring officers and the Press.. . : , x . Mr. G. D. M'Ewen nlaoed the winners of the. club's competitions as follow:— Mr. Oole (singles): -Messrs. Kirk and Melhuish (pairs); Messra. Harman, Johnston, Reynold, and Beynonjrink). KEMURN CLTJB. In the course of their annual report tho directors of tho Kelburn Bowling Club Btate that the finances of the club are 'stilt buoyant, and. dospito the Increaßo in the amount which it has been found necessary to pay for a groundsman, and tho increased cost o£ materia*, the oiceßS of incomo over ugnenditure for the year was £41 18s. 2d. This has enabled tho directors to materially reduce tho bank overdraft and effect a substantial writingdown of an item shown amongst tho assets as costs of green. The .heavy initial expenditure on the construction qf tho green, while not represented by any-, thing capable of beinc realised upon, was an outlay essential to the club'B continued existence. ' That itoin, which after adding the cost of the now green, has now boon reduced to £107 15s. 7d„ aDoeared in the books a few years aeo at a very formidable sum.
