MEETING OF, EXECUTIVE COM- --. MITTEE. . A meeting of tho New Zealand Executive Committee- of the New Zealand branch of the British Red Cross-and Order of St. John was held at Government House on Thursday, His Excellency the Governor-General, president of tho society, presiding. ' In .regard to supplying underclothing to soldier-patients in military and civilian hospitals, . and on discharge therefrom, it was decided that, in addition to the supply to tlibso in hospital, two complete sets of underclothing bo .supplied to soldiers on dischnrgb from military and civilian hospitals, 'viz., -two pyjamas, two day shirts,- two undershirts, two underpants, two pair 60cks. In reply to. a telegram from tho London branch asking for a vote of .£SOOO for the purpose of. providing an ageiit at Calais to assist visiting relatives visiting New Zenlanders' graves, it was decided that this was not a matter for the Red Cross Society. The reports of the New Zealand repre-' sentatives at the conference of the League of Red Cross Societies at Geneva were read.. .

It was announced' that four motor ambulances presented by iho British Red Cross, London, had been located at tho four centres.

As the meeting marked the last occasion -on- which His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Liverpool, would preside at an executive meeting of tho society, a very cordial vote of thanks to .Their Excellencies was proposed by the Hon. Dr. Collins, chairman of the executive, aii'd 'seconded by Mrs. J. P. Luke. Dr. Collins 6aid he wished to voice tho appreciation of the association of the very valuable work performed by Their-Excellencies during the time they had been in New Zealand. His Excellency had worked imlefatigably for tho Red Cross organisation, and Her Excellency, besides being associated with that organisation which bears her name, had also been assiduous in visiting tho sick and wounded in Hospital. In conolusion, ho thanked Their Excellencies for what tliey had done, . and wished them n ploasant Voyage and every success in tho future.' Tho voto ■ was carried by nc J clanialion. ''
