Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that on Monday they held a clearing sale on account of Mr. Harold Taylor, of Te Horo. The herd of 24 cows was submitted to a fair attendance of buyers, and averaged £15 por head, They quote: . Tho Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operatlvo Association, Ltd., Pahiatua, report on tho undermentioned clearing sales:—At Mangahao, I'ahintua, on May 26 and 27, in conjunction with the Hawkc's - Bay farmers Co-operative Association, Ltd., we held a very successful sale on account of Mr. G. Allwood, when wo offered to a fair attendance of the public 250 dairy cowb. Bidding throughout tho saio was fairly keen, and we wcro successful in disposing of practically the whole, of tho herd at satisfactory prices. l'riceß ranged from £21 10s. to £10. The whole of the herd averaged £14 10s. At Woodville, 011 May 29, in conjunction with the Ilawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., we held a successful clearing Bale of registered and grado Shorthorn cowa, on account of Mesbrs. Groves Bros. Thero was a good attendance of the public, but it was soon seen that the milking Shorthorn breed has somewhat gone out of favour with tho public. Ecgistered cows ronlised from £24 to £13. A weaner heifer purchased by Mr. B. H. Slack, of llimitangi, realised £30. Implements and sundries sold well. At Pahiatua, on June 2, in conjunction with the New Zealand Ajomi and Mercantile Agcncy Co., Ltd., wo held a successful salo of pedigree and grado Jersey stock on account of Mr. G. Bottomley. There wnß a good attcndajicc of tho public, and competition was keen throughout. Beßt price realised for pedigree Jersey cow, Royal .Jenny, waß 107gns„ being purchased by Mr. A. C. Loveloiik. of Woodville. Other priccs realised (or pedigree uowfl were, 91j?na., 61[jnf>.» 55gns., sG(jnß.; 2 heifers realised 45pne. arid Mrus.; 2 pedigree yoarling bulls realised 35&ns. and Grade cows were in keen demand, and sold at -prices ranging from £51 to £14 10a.
