MILK SHORTAGE
An explanation of the 6erious shortago in the city's milk 6upply was given by Councillor W. 11. Bennett (chairman of the Milk Committee) at last night's meeting of the City Council. At tho present time, he stated, tho council was distributing 1000 gallons per day less than during the corresponding period of last year. This was duo to tho fact that two sources of supply which obtained last year had been cut off. Natlmns, of Bunnytliorpe, had discontinued their supply of from 800 to 400 gallons, and en account of tho milk department not being in a position to pay thb excessive price asked, 526 gallons which formerly cauio from Fcatherston each day were no longer being 1 Tha Milk Committee reported to tho council that it had received a roport from tV.'o assistant general manager showing tho cost incurred in carriage of milk* to ttos city during tho recent railway dislocation, "to bo .€ll2 Is. lOd.
