FOOTBALL GROUNDS
ALLOCATION BY CITY COUNCIL, At the meeting of the City Council last evening it was decided that the application of the Wellington Football Association for permission to arrange a match -with a team from H.M.S. Renown, to be held at the Basin Reserve on May 8, bo not acceded to, but that they.bo granted Newtown Park without the right to charge. It had already been decided .to close the Basin Reserva until June 12.'. and the Reserves Commitee were of opinion that no charge should be made for a match such as the one proposed.
The charge for the 'winter grounds was fixed the same as last year, viz., £5 ss. per ground.
The council approved of the following allocation of grounds for the winter seaBon:—Newtown Park—l, Wellington Football Association; 1, Rugby Union; 1. Wellington Rugby League. Wakefield Parlc-2, Wellington Football Association; i, 'Wellington Rugby Union. Kclburn Park—l, Football Association; I, Rugby Union. Anderson Park—2, Wellington Football Association. Kilbii'nie Reserve—2, Wellington 'Football Association; 3, Wellington Rugby Union; 1, Hocke.V Association. Lyall Bay. ReBerve—2, Wellington Football Association; 3. Wellington Rugby Union. Emerson Street' Ground—l, Rugby League. Day's Bay—l, Hockey Association.
