BORROWING MUST CEASE. London, February 13. The official report of the local authorities to the Prime Minister and Mr. Austen Chamberlain, on tho promotion of housing schemes, shows that they asked tho Government to raise 1000 millions sterline for that purpose. Mr. Chamberlain pointed out the supreme importance el the cessation of borrowing. The Government could not undertake the responsibility even if the amount could bo rais-ed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
