RAM FAIR AT DANNEVIRKE

(Special Oorraopondsnt.) Danncvirke, February 14. There was a very good attendance at the annual ram fair at Danncvirke on Friday. The bulk of the entries consisted of lionineys, and at (he opening thero was a keen demand for all really good sheep, but it soon became evident (hat the demand even of this favourite olass was a long way short of the supply. Soon after, the middle of the sale, good sheep, which had brought from 7gns. to lOgiw. at (he opening were hard lo (,nit even at. half theso prices. Lincoln.* met with a veiv poor demand. Kouth.tavn'a met.,a- good demand all through. Good etud Homnoys made from 20»ns. to SSjfvs., ond grtodflocks from to 7gns. In ilocks, however, there were a number of entries which were nuite equal to most of the studs. The Dannevirku A. and P. Association, at their show on 'the previoua day, had a class fnr five-nhear flock rarnn, ivith a proviso that the whole of the entries must bo T>ut up at the rain fair. The result, was that twenty pens of the best came forward from most of the weH-knoYTii breeders, with fho result that they met keen competition at Hie fair. Mr. Max Toss's first oriro pen realising lSjjfliw., while Mr. J, E. Hewitt's sceond uriscc nen made 2"gri!.. and .mother pen from the same owner 2Rg)i | >. These, however, wore exceptionally fmft sheep, and the prices obtainrd form no criterion of values in (he general run of (lock sheep. A few really good stud Lincolns from the studs of 'Messrs. Perrr Bros, and Mr. A. K. Anderson brought from ISgns. to 20gns.. but other elates are almost unai'otnble. A few really good I'ock from Mr. 15. A.
