THE PRINCE'S TOUR
* ARRANGEMENTS FOR OUTWARD JOURNEY. London, February 13. The Prince of Wales will leave Portsmouth on March 9, and will arrive at ]i°rl>iidoes on the 19th. He will hold nn official reception there on the promenade deck, a portion of which has been specially prepared for the purpose. The party will spend a few hours ashore while H.M.S. Eenown is taking in fuel, which will occupy about six hours. Thence the ship will proceed to Colon, where the United States Government is preparing a welcome. There will be no official visit ashore. Thero will bo a formal call at Panama. The Renown will proceed to Honolulu and remain there half a day to take in fuel. No official visit ashore will be made. The next stop will be at Fiji for fuol._ The New Zealand desire that the Prince should reach Auckland on April 17 necessitates cutting down the earlier programme to tho minimum. The Tctum journey by the Panama route will afford time lor another visit to Fiji and other British possessions in the Pacific,, also a fairly extensive tour of the West Indies. The Prince of Wales has appointed his staff for the Australasian tour ns follows:—Chief of Staff, Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey; secretary, Mr. E. W. M. Grigg; personal secretary, Sir Godfrey Thomas; extra equerry, Captain Dudley North; equerries, Captain Lord Claud Hamilton, Captain the Hon. Piers W. Leteh (son of Lord Newton). Sir Lionel Halsey's staff secretary will be Lieutenant-Com-mander Panion, and his flag-lieutenant will be Sub-Lieuten.ant Lord Mountbat-ten.—Aus.-N.Z. Cnble Assn.
