PICNIC AT LOWER HUTT
The staff of the British United Shoe Machinery Co.-held their annual picnio on Saturday at Belle Vue Gardens, Lower Hutt. . The weather conditions were ideal, and the ofttinjr proved _ a sroat Kuc'cess. The party journeyed to their destination by motor-buses. An oncrRctic committee, with Messrs. D. Witfifths and J. Staples, had arranged;' very comprehensive and interesting sports programme, and keen competition was evident in all the events, .especially in the bowling and tennis tournaments. Rowlands, of the JNew Zealand' Boot Co.. Auckland. On tho motion of Mr. H. Dyson, seconded by Mr. A J. Andrews, a hearty vote of .thanks was accorded lb tho firm and management, to which Mr. W. H. Lee, Now Zealand manager, suitably responded.
