PAISLEY BY-ELECTION
London, February 8. Three of tho Into W. E. Gladstone's sons, Henry, Stephen, and Herbert, have sent Mr. Asquilh a joint telegram, in which they say: "The country wants tho clear, definite guidnnce which you aro giving. May the remembrance of the Midlothian campaign of 18S0 unite all Liberals in Paisley, and givs you a tremendous majority." Mr. Asquith, speaking at Paisley, said: "Two thousand millions is about the outsido that can be got from Germany. I am prepared to write off our share as a. bad debt."—Aiis.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
