PICNICS AT PETONE
Tho annual picnic of the Petone Baptist Sundav School was held at Mason's Gardens. Taita, yesterday. During the dav a sports programme was carried out, the results of the. various rtinning events being us follow:—lnfants' lace—Pirst girls: Veriia Milford, 1; Elhel Garrett, 2: Winnie Garrett, .'I. Second girls: Laura Vine. 1; Winnie Lambourne, 2; Agnes Carey, 3. Boys race: Eric Whitham. 1: Eric Russell, 2; James Lambourne. 3. Mis Hoddiiiott's Class: Edith Kent, I; Beatrice Casluuoie, 2; Piivllis Lewtliwaitc-, 3. Miss Nichols's Class: Thelma Carey, I; May Young, 2; Edith Wainwright, 3. Mr. Lambourne's Class: Leonard Lambouriio, 1; Alan Milford.. 2. Mi. Hoddiiiott's Class: Howard Hoskins, 1; Herbert Cashmore. 2: Arthur Kent, 3. Young Women's Bible Class; Marjory Busing, 1; Ailsa Xicol, 2; Elhel Nicol, 3. There wero about 150 people present at lhe combined picnic of tile Petone and Hutt Churches of Christ held in the Koro Koro Valley. Games and races, etc.. were, engaged in, and a most enjoyable day was spent. During the afternoon an interesting and instructive lecture on lhe home-life nnd customs of the African native was given by a Church of Christ missionary who had recently returned from South Africa.
