GENERATION OF ELECTRICITY
The requirements and provisions under which licenses to use water for the pur>X"'Ose of generating electricity aj.pear in the Gnzotto' issued last evening. Applicants must furnish a number of detailed plans and also a. etatoinent of tlin quantity of water*to be- taken, and the difference in level between the water and the headwords nnd in the taiWace; a description of the electrical s; stem to bo adopted—that is to say, whether direct current or alternating current, and if the latter the number, of phases and periodicity, and m either caso tho'pressure o£ generation,' transmission, iuui supply. If the Minister thinks an aj>plication should bo further considered ho mny appoint a commission of inquiry for the; purpose. Thd rental is iixed n>. 4s. per- kilowatt of maximum output generated during each year.as.'indicated by a watt-meter.
