HOME SERVICE LEAGUE
« The newly-constituted Wellington Home Service Leaguo met on Saturday evening, 45 members being present. A lively discussion took place icgarding the attitudo of some of the Parliamentary candidates with regard to the league's questions, and a suggestion was thrown out that the answers of tho icspective candidates thereto be published. Ihe secretary waa instructed to communicate with influential local men with a view to obtaining their assistance at a public meeting by way of an address or otherwise as deemed fit. Fletton urban district, on the borders of Peterborough, has been asked to make war on mosquitoes by the medical officer of health.' It appears that a lnd aged 11 h-id been infectcd with malaria, although he had never been out of the district. The boy's blood was examined, and it was found that a diseasu-carrymg mosquito had bitten him. 'lho diGease is cproad by mosquitoes biting infected persons—there being eight eases among ex-soldiers in the district-and then biting someone else.
