♦ AW A'UAL HEI'OIIT. - . The annual report of the New Zealand Soldiers' Club, of London, ivhhli has just ' reached the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), stfltos that the accounts for the year ended September 20 show that a sum of -C76IS 17s. lftd. has 'been pa'd over to the High Commissioner for New Zealand for transmission to the Government of New Zealand, The Government has subsidised the club from timo to time to tliQ amount of <£12,130,' of' which the above-named sum, viz., ,f!7GIS 375. 10d., is now refunded, leaving the net subs'dy from the Government at JMS3I 2s. 2d. "Your committee," says the report, "considers that those fißiirjs show that the institution lias been economically managed, taking into consideration iho enormous increase in the price of all com modi ties,' and the reasonable prices charged for meals, etc., in the club. The hostel account shows a gro.ss profit of <£IG7 IBs. Id., and the canteen account shows a profit, of <£1394 6s. Bd., less establishment charges. The item for dilapidations, <£732 7s. Bd., is very reasonable, taking into consideration the present cost of labour and materials. The club was closed on Junq 3, .1919, and for the period from the close of the last fnnncial year, viz., July 31JU; 'lint date, th' Minings amounted to X-iM; Ills. Id., »:• against ,£23,7fi0 Gs. 9d.
