SATURDAY'S MATCHES RAIN CAUSES POSTPONEMENT ■ Although rain fell throughout the forenoon on Saturday, conditions appeared so propitious in the afternoon that it was resolved to play the cricket matches set down for decision. Accordingly, a start was mado (it tho Basin Keservo with tho East v. Old Boys and' North v. Petone games. Play had only been in progress about half-an-hour, however, when tho wind wont round to the south, bringing up with it a copious supply of rain. Tho players adjournod to tho pavilion to await a possible moderation of tho weather, but after over an hour and a half had elapsed it was seen that the rain was likely to come down harder than ever, rather than cease, so it was decided to abandon play for the day. By Telegraph-Press Association. Duncdin, December 11. The cricket match between the Otngo Boys' High School and Christ's College commenced this .morning. Tho wickot was dull after heavy oVer-nijlit lam. Tho High School, with three wickets down for 12, resumed the second innings, which closed for 119 (Dickinson C,-, Swm-1 ton 31). Christ's College thus won by 2D runs. Sugden, Cowlishaw, and Pengelly each took two wickets.
