Of tho sovon fl'ials completed, no fewer than four were advantage games. The exhibition singles between Max Forking ami Donovan reiultcd in a win for the sevon-year-old boy after an interesting etruggln. In tho primary events, the play of Perkins and Charters, and Telford and Lochoro was of a hiith order, whilst the rawsition given by M. Leo, M. Apstie, and If. East in tho girls' oventa was quito up to the standard of'previous yeais., Darine tho adjournment., Ifr. J. H. Worhovs. president of the Schools' Association, in welcoming His Worship tho Mayor, made a ctrong appeal for municipal tennis courts for tho children. In tho course of hin remarks he stated that already over a thousand children in the local schools were playing tennis, whilst as many more were debarred from participating in this healthful pastime through lack of playing grounds.
