CHAUTAUQUA Is conducted by an association of New Zealand citizens, assisted by progressive citi/sons in eighty centres. All proceeds go towards improving tho movement from year to year. CONSEQUENT upon tho failure'to ar- . rive at a settlement of the demands of the Gasworks Employees for increased wages, tho Directors of tho Company desire to intimato to Consumers that it may be. found impossible to avoid seriously curtailing or even discontinuing altogether the Gas supply. Every effort will bs made to maintain an uninterrupted manufacture, but in the event of any breakdown of the machinery which cannot he quickly repaired a complete etoppago may result, of which littla or no notice can bo given. Should tho Gas supply fail,, consumer? are advised to give immediate attention to their appliances by turning off all taps of pilot jots, pendants,' brackets, cookers, bath heaters, and any other gas apparatus they may have in use.
