RETURNED SOLDIERS' BADGE ABUSED
Sir.—lt is now about a month since Wellington hoardings and hotels were placarded with an insulting pus:er in whicli tho returned soldier, is used as a tool of the liiiuor trade. I have pationtlv waited for an expression of ]»'otest from the executive of our association, but so far this has not been fortlicomina-. I wish, Sir, publicly to ask the Executive if they have authorised the. trade to use the badge of the association to further Hie interests of liouor duriiiH the i«ferendum cninpaigui' I protest that the use of our badge by the liquor people has led the peoplo to bolievo that the returned sokierc as a body are favourable to their cause. Let the. association bo true to its ideals,' and tell the liquor people and the prohibition party, too, to leave the returned soldier out of their insulting caricatures. Lnt. them demand the withdrawal of 'the insult and the destruction of the posters. ■ But Dcrhnrfi the association has authorised the use of the badge. Where 0083 our association stand, anyway?—l am. etc.. 15/143.
