BIG INCREASE IN MARRIAGES,
The vital statistics for Wellington for tho month of November make interesting reading on account of tho rery large increase in the number of marriages over the number recorded for the corresponding month of last year. In November of 1918 only 4i marriages were recorded, as against 117 for last month—an increase which is accounted for by fihe absence of tho influenza epidemic, which vrae raging at this tiino last year. With only one more month to go to comploto the year, tlie marriages on record total 1108, us compared with 853 for the corresponding 11 months of last year. Births show an increase for the month, but a fallingofl of 133 for the eleven months. Deaths for dhe month just ended show a very considerable deoreaso compared with November, 1917, which in the circumstances is only to bo expected, but for the eleven months an increase of 22 is shown.
