SENIOR CADETS
TO-DAI'S TOURNAMENT. . Given fine weather, tho tournament of Senior Cadets in No. S Group (Wellington city and suburbs) to be held at the Basin Reserve this afternoon, should be a great success. Some 99 teams have entered for the different events, which comprise squad drill, bugle competition, rifle exercises, signalling, physical training, tug-of-war, and races, and it is expected that the competitors will number upwards of 1500. ■ During tho afternoon a presentation of service medals for gallantry in the field will be made by the General Officer Commanding (.Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, K.C.M.G., C.8.) to former members of the N.Z.E.F. The tournament mil commence at 2-30 p.m. At 1.30 p.m. the various companies of Senior Cadets will parado at Brandon Street, and, headed by the sth (Wellington) Regiment Band, the Caledonian Society's Pipo Band, and the Boys' Institute Drum and Trumpet Band, will march through the city to the' Basin Reserve. Tor some time past the Cadets havo been practising assiduously in preparation for to-day's gathering, and it only needs the enthusiasts co-operation of the public to make the tournament tho success it deserves to be.
