WORK AT ADDINGTON

The course proper was thrown open fur work this morning. The track is in excellent order, bill few trainers took the opportunity to fully extend' their horses. Paul Huon, looking well, was given two heats of a mile and a half by C. James. The Australian-bred trotter did his work in a pleasing manner, and should race well at the meeting. George Hara showed a good turn' of speed while pacing two miles, without the hopples. Ho pulled bard, and was anxious to increase the pace. Nelson Bingen trotted n mile and a half. His oisplay was not impressive, as he left his teet when under pressure. Trix PoinTer proved much too superior for Pax in a strong mile and a quarter. The former worked in the middle of the track, and was not out for time-making. J. C'ockerill drove Agathos a useful mile and a half, As in his past efforts, the gelding moved frcelv. Frank Tracey, bearing a welltrained appearance, oid sprinting exercise, showing a good turn of speed. Tommy C. was restricted to half to three-ciuarler pace work, without hopples. He looks well, and will be worked fast with straps to-morrow. Albert Cling and Sashwuod worked in company over several circuits at. three-quarter nacc. Albert Cling is still carrying portion of Uiis winter coat, which does not add to his appearance. The Oamaru Cup candidate showed that ho has not been idle of late, and is sure to strip a long way better horse than he did at the Oamaru meeting. Silver Xut, with his owner in the saddle, moved nicely over two miles. A. Pringle worked Hannah M. in harness, and Succory in saddle over short courses, neither being on I; for time-making. .- Moneymaker, looking in first-class fettle, paced strong-1 )v over a. mile without, the si raps, showing a gooo turn of speed. Provided tho weather conditions are favourable at Addimilnn to-morrow, Albert (Ming mid Moneymaker are to be worked out over n mile and a half. Minlson, Bon Caesar, and Asturio were given a workout over two miles at New Brighton. The pace was solid from the start, their respective times being Imin. 36sec., 4min. 38scc. and Imin. 37>-;ee. The effort of the first-mentioned.pair was only moderate.
