Makura is to be converted into an oil-consuming vessel in order to obviate a proportion #f the delays which have been associated with the vessel for a long time. The change is to be made about January or February, 1920, at Port Chalmers. '■ The new system will .mean tho 'establishment of oil depots at Suva, Auckland, and Sydney. Tho Niagara. will take in oil at Vancouver and Honolulu.' When the vessel is converted, the number of employees will be reduced by thirty-six, principally firemen.- TheMaynganui, it is understood, will replace the Jlak'ura in the meantime. PAPABOA FROM HOME. The Paparoa, is due in the stream at 8 a.m. this morning from Bristol, via Panama.
