RIOT AT LIMERICK RACES
POLICE BATONS V. BOTTLES.
London, October 3. Tho abandonment of the Limerick races yesterday caused a riot. Owing to delay in returning their money, 2000 people who had paid for admission mobbed and chased tho racecourse secretary upstairs in the grandstand and robbed him of thewages of the staff. The police repeatedly charged with baton?, and were met with vrilfeys of bottles. They eventually drove off the crowd after much damage had been done to the buildings and. many persons had been injured—Renter.
